Miss Randi Lynn has finally had her tubes put in! After about 4 months of tests and appointments they determined that tubes were the only way to end her nasty run of ear infections, so July 26th we took her in for her short 15 minute surgery... We got up bright and early and Miss Randi was a happy girl, we had to be at the hospital at 6:00am and she was in the pre-op room by 6:15, we got her all dressed in her diaper exposing outfit (pictured below) and we patiently waited for the nurse to do last minute vitals and checks before receiving her sedative and anesthesia for surgery.
Isn't that above just the cutest little patient you've ever seen from behind? I sure think so! She was all smiles and talking away...
Below is her checking out all the gadgets they had attached to her... she was such a good girl and didn't pull any of them off... soon they came in and gave her a sedative. I contemplated posting a picture of her on it or a video of her on it, but because I am not sure how some feel about that, I have decided to keep those on my harddrive for our own enjoyment. She really was hilarious. She gave lots of kisses to her baby, talked about momma and dadda, called out for Ryan, and learned a new giggle. Every nurse and Dr were soon in love with her and even those not assigned to us were stopping in to check out this silly patient. I think the sedative made it easier for me to let her go with the nurse to the surgery room, because she truly was happily in her own world and smiling.
I only waiting in the waiting room long enough to call Carl, give him an update and watch about 10 minutes of this random 1980's show on TV. It was just getting good when I saw Randi's Dr come and tell me everything went perfectly and Randi was doing great... below is our sleeping beauty right after surgery...
So far tubes are going great, we just finished our last day on the ear drop antibiotics and although she didn't like me putting them in, she was a great patient for me and has had no leaking or bleeding at all. She fussed about cotton balls in her ears the first two bath times, but is now used to them. We are attempting running through sprinklers for the first time today and have bought some wax to use for that so we shall see how that goes. Hopefully smooth so that our little missy can continue to enjoy summer for the next week while she is still required to not fully submerse herself in water. We are so grateful for the advances in medicine that have made tubes possible and so simple and non-invasive. We are hoping for no ear infections for a long long time! Wish us luck and yay for Randi! So proud of our baby girl!
And just one more cute shot of Miss Randi before surgery... she didn't let go of her dolly from the minute we were in there until surgery and it was the first thing she asked for when she woke up was "baby" I just love her!

What a gorgeous little patient!
Definitely the cutest patient I have ever seen. I'm glad everything went well and that it was a quick surgery. :)
