August has been an exciting and busy month for us... between Carl getting back into the swing of work, and getting a promotion (Go baby!) as well as having the Flaughs come for a visit, we also have had me certifying for my new job, the twinkies turning 20 months old, and Carl and my 5 Year Anniversary! Below is just the last two events!
The twinkies on Aug. 20 turned 20 months old, they are harder and harder to get a photo of together. They are way too busy and way too cool to smile for the camera, instead I just run around after them telling them to look at mommy and singing their favorite songs to get their attention. Some days are more successful than others, this day happened to be a semi successful day :)
Miss Randi, she is more of a diva than ever... she talks almost nonstop and enjoys yelling at her brother when he does something that she does not agree with. Her favorite words right now are : No, Ryan, Ungy (hungry), inky (stinky), pee pee, ootles (tootles off of Mickey Mouse Club House) and night night... she is still a great sleeper, an amazing eater, and is becoming a pro at both her utensils and cups (Although mommy still only allows cups while in their high chair) Randi is becoming quite picky of what she wears, especially on her feet, and how her hair is done. Mommy doesn't give in so easy and lets her whine it out if she doesn't like what she has on, and if she pulls out her hair, it is normally put right back up... what can I say mommy must be a meanie!! She is such a happy girl and loves to dance and sing. Her new favorite tune is anything by New Kids on the Block and she definitely has some hip moves that we previously thought were from mommy, but after a dance night with daddy joining in, she may have gotten a few of those moves from daddy as well! She has been all about mommy lately, especially at night and well she is our diva!
Ryan... oh our little guy... he is only 30+ inches tall but acts like he is 10 feet tall! He thinks he owns the house and controls all of us in it... :) Ryan is starting to talk more, when he can get a word in, and some of his favorite words are: Ball, buttball (football), bye bye, dog, nanana (banana), bath, more, and dadda... he is a total daddy's boy. I always thought he'd be a momma's boy, but there is no question about who he wants when he is sad, mad or who he is most upset about getting in trouble by. He is a monkey and climbs on anything and everything. He has decided he is ready for a toddler bed and although we have been training them during nap time, the recent urge for them to play has made mommy use the rails again, however they are no longer keeping him in... he has fallen/jumped out of his crib twice and gotten out successfully once... toddler bed rails are in our near future. Ryan is still a picky eater, is sleeping so much better (8pm- 6:30am) and that makes mommy a happier camper all day long. He would much rather be naked than clothed and will wear any shoes as long as that means he gets to play outside. His new favorite pastime is jumping in puddles and jumping on top of anyone lying down... he loves to dance to, but his is more of a sparatic c-walk, bboy type of dancing... he's a stud
They are truly our pride and joys and bring more happiness to us than we ever imagined possible, sure there are the "AHHHHH" moments and the "Where's the nearest adoption agency" moments, but all in all the "awwws" and "ooo's" outweigh them both and we couldn't be more blessed. Oh and I just have to mention they now tell us "wuv you" and it melts our hearts!
Aug 21 was our 5 year wedding anniversary... we can't believe so much time has past, it feels like just yesterday we were moving here to North Carolina, now 2 deployments, 6 moves, 4 vehicles, twins, a new house, and much more behind us, we are more in love and happier than ever... our day was very relaxed and spent as a family. Carl and I went to Daytona back in July as our official present to one another, so besides the delicious cupcakes pictured below and a couple sappy cards to one another we just hung out... we went for a family walk, let the kids swim, got dressed up and went to dinner, then after the kids went to bed we enjoyed cupcakes, gelato, and caught up on some TV on the DVR... yes we are officially old people who would rather curl up and watch some TV and get to bed at a decent hour than go out and "party it up" as a couple... life is fabulous and we couldn't ask for more (other than a second paycheck from Jess working) in our life right now.... Yay for 5 years... enjoy and salivate over the cupcakes below...
There was a banana pudding, peanut butter and chocolate, apple cinnamon, and cookies and cream... they were all divine (well we haven't had the apple cinnamon yet, but the rest were!
And finally a picture of my life... I love you baby and I love our babies! Life is perfect!

Happy late Anniversary. Your kiddo's are so cute. And those cupcakes look YUMMY. Maybe it's because I am on a diet. I actually broke all the rules yesterday for our Anniversary. We went to Applebees and got a Triple Chocolate Meltdown.
