Kira and Dayrk are amazing! They put their summer on hold and all their vacation time into coming to NC to spend time with us. We are so grateful and so lucky to have had them here in our home for 9 full days! Now 4 adults and 4 children of 3years and younger is a lot of work in our home! Where Kira runs an at home daycare and is used to chaos in the home, I definitely was not 100% prepared for the mess or the work that 4 kids could be! Definitely a wake up call to the fact that we are PERFECTLY happy with just 2 munchkins at this point in our life! Here are some of our adventures!
On our way to the coast... My best friend and I :) Love you sis!
This is what our Flex looked like once all the kiddos were loaded up! It was so funny and quite tough to endure the 2 hour ride... specifically because of our territorial men in the back... both wanted to use Ryan's hand rest, and sharing just was not an option, so that led to a few hits, arguments and tears between the two booger boys... The girls though were wonderful! Smiles and laughs and some funny songs later and they were still happy and content with life.
Miss Addi found a gecko in our backyard. We watched it for quite some time and we took a picture of her with her new "pet" then Uncle Carl took it to safe keeping in one of our shrubs so the kiddos wouldn't torture it. Isn't she just a cutie pie!? We spent a lot of time outside, we blew bubbles, ran through sprinklers, played ball and on the toys, we sun bathed and BBQ'd and just had a fabulous time. Even with the heat we found time daily to enjoy the sun and weather!
Doug is a stud... end of the picture story :)
On the coast... we went to Carolina beach for 2 days, it was a blast! All of the kids enjoyed the water and had fun in the sand... there were plenty of creases for the sand to hide at the end of the day. Carl even got in on the waves! We had to still be careful with Miss Randi and be sure that her ears did not get too much water in them, but with daddy by her side all went well and she had no problems staying above the water!
Addi and Ryan were probably the biggest fishes and it was a lot of work at the end of the day to get them out of the water, but that was fine by me, because I love the water and the beach is one of my happiest places on earth!
Ryan getting nice and dirty in the sand! He seriously had it everywhere... he was tossing it and laughing... it was too funny
The whole group! Funny quick story... we asked a passing middle aged man to take our photo and two seconds after posing he asked where he was supposed to look through to take the photo... well he had been holding the camera backwards and the picture below was what we had about 5 photos of before getting the above picture of the whole group! What a funny man! We laughed and didn't tell him what he had been doing wrong the whole time. I figured embarrassing him would not go too far in getting an actual shot :) hehe
Finally we toured the NC aquarium and it was a big hit with the kids and with us adults. I love that place. It was perfect weather and we all had a good time. Addi loved everything about it, Doug loved the turtles the most and I think the twins loved their "explorer hats" at the end of the tour the best :) I had to get at least one shot of Carl and I in, because frankly we are pretty cute! haha... seriously though I just love that man! Then there is Dayrk and Doug... what a great daddy/son shot... I was glad they enjoyed it as much as they did!
Finally this trip included lots of group bath times! Aren't they all just equally adorable? You don't have to answer that because I already know the answer... They were so funny in the tub and each night they had one we had a nice pool on our bathroom floor to clean up, but it was worth it.
Thank you Flaugh's for coming to our side of the Nation and for seeing our world and our home. We will always have it open to you and hope that one day you can come again. We love you and miss you so much already, it's too quiet with only 2 kids! Give Addi and Doug kisses from us all and hugs to all of you! We had a blast!!
