Wednesday was the first time in about a month that I was able to do what I wanted to and be home at a decent hour in order to cook a real dinner... I decided on a basic Chicken with peppers and onion entree on top of white sauce noodles... so today I have just added my personal white sauce with a twist... because we all know I LOVE some spice to all my dishes :)
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
2 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
2 1/2 tsp. salt (or less)
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. ground red pepper (preferably cayenne)
3/4 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves
1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. ground red pepper (preferably cayenne)
3/4 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves
1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
In saucepan melt butter. Stir in flour, salt, garlic powder, red pepper, black pepper, thyme, and oregano. Add milk in all at once. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 2-3 minutes more.
It tastes like a cajun/blackened type of sauce and pairs great with the grilled chicken and veggies...
Yummy!
