I saw these flowers on the internet a few weeks ago and decided that I was going to make them with the kids. Now anyone that knows me knows that I have never been really that talented in the arts department, but I tried! I think Randi definitely got some talent in the coloring/painting area. I cut out petals from construction paper, picked up some colored pipe cleaners, colored puff balls and let the kids pick contrasting colors to paint the petals, then I used the bottom of a cardboard egg carton and painted them green to attach everything together. It worked pretty well I think and the kids had a blast!
Now I have a bouquet of flowers that will never wilt on me! Pretty exciting if you ask me!
Next up... I was always one of those people that swore up and down I wouldn't have all the back yard toys that took up a lot of room, the multiple bikes and everything that was unnecessary and then I came across a great friend who is being stationed in Hawaii that had some backyard toys she was looking to get rid of and for her price I just couldn't pass them up! They even brought them over to our home for us, I mean does it get any nicer than that!? (Thanks Tracey!) Well now our kids have a toy castle and toy house in our backyard. They also have trikes and bikes as well as silver bullets. Seriously why can't they have a hay stack and canal like we had!? :) Anyways, we put them together let the kiddos play with them for a short time and then came inside for bed, it caused a breakdown, Randi didn't want to sleep in "our" home she wanted to sleep in her "new home" then she had to keep looking out the window while she cried to be sure her house was still there. It was hilarious and went on for far too long, needless to say she went to bed very upset with momma that night and the next day required multiple trips to her house. We are excited for the new toys and they are going to get used often!
Yep life is good and things I never thought I'd do and never thought I was good at I'm doing and I'm attempting... aren't kids great for helping us stretch our own boundaries and try new things? Thank goodness for our twinkies and their inquisitive minds! I love our little family and life.
