Snow! Finally...

So all through December the kids did not believe us that Christmas was coming because every year they have had snow at Christmas and on Christmas morning despite the presents, tree, cold and cookies eaten by Santa they were still unsure it was really Christmas because there was no snow... it was a sad time! Finally this past weekend we got snow! Not much as you'll see but enough to call a snow day for the family and stay home with the kids and play in it. We spent probably 4-5 hours out in the freezing cold around 20 degree weather with only one break for some cocoa, lunch and warming up... but it was amazing!

Randi woke up early and her and I sat in their room on her bed and watched the snow fall, soon Ryan woke up and joined us... we sang "Let it Snow" "Jingle Bells" "Frosty the Snow Man" and a few other snowy songs... soon daddy woke up and the mad dash to get ready was on... Ryan's immediate favorite thing to do was throw the snow, it was too fluffy to pack it in so he just threw it up and it went everywhere and his joyous laugh was soon to follow

Miss Randi immediately wanted to make snow angels and eat the snow which I think I lost count at about 20 times telling her not to since dogs regularly poop on our apartment grounds! Gross... and she made probably 3 angels as well as mommy :)

Soon we had the kids sledding down any hill we could find and they loved it, Randi mainly liked the small hill but after bribing her with a popsicle (yes even in this freezing weather my kids love popsicles, which they get from their father) she went down the big steeper hill a few times, we have videos and I will download those with more photos soon! Best snow day with our kids yet...we are planning a trip to the mountains this weekend or next to have more fun in the snow!

A quick family shot that shows us to a T, Randi was mid cough, but its still perfect! I wouldn't change anything about this day except maybe a few more hours and a few more inches of snow :)
