Time to play catch up... December has been pretty crazy... since the last post, it's been full of prep, preschool, work, sickness, Dr's, and FUN!
Randi got sick the weekend before her birthday, she had a bad fever, would not eat anything and just slept... she had to miss 2 days of preschool and finally the day before her birthday we had both her and Ryan's 4 year check ups, which was perfect since we needed to take her in anyway. She ended up having an ear infection and after 2 doses of an antibiotic was about back to normal which meant she was able to go to her birthday party at preschool. Ryan's appointment went good, but then he had to get a shot, that boy is strong... it took 3 of us to hold him down on his belly so they could give it in the bum... the nurse poked him, he flexed and the needle came right out... he was poke again, wiggled and flexed and the needle came out AGAIN, third time was a success and they felt horrible and made them little sticker puppets out of stickers and the popsicle stick things that they put in your mouth :)
Stats:
Ryan: 40 inches tall, 39lbs
Randi: 40 inches tall, 35.6lbs
Their actual birthday Carl and I were going to have to work, met at noon and him the whole afternoon and evening (as he is on night schedule) so we celebrated first thing in the morning. The kids woke up and opened their presents (which surprisingly I didn't get many photos of) They were spoiled, they got new scooters, new comforters, Spiderman toys, Merida dolls, and too much other stuff! Here's a few photos

Randi's big gift this and really the only thing she got from us was her ears pierced. She had been wanting them for some time and daddy finally said yes... she was a trooper... no crying, just a slight flinch then smiles and starring at the mirror. I was impressed! She loves them and the first week that I had to clean them she kept thinking I was taking them out and would tell me "No don't take them out, I like them!"

Then we did breakfast and let them blow out their candles and eat a cupcake for a snack before preschool! Here are our cuties!

Their finished cupcakes for preschool, if you follow my sisters at all you will realize how uncreative I am, but the kids loved them so that was all that mattered to me, hopefully next year I can do something better and more creative!

Finally the weekend after their birthday we took them to see Santa... BEST SANTA EVER! Seriously I wanted to go hug him, while waiting in line and between kids, he would come over and wave to the children and sing a carol and "ho ho ho" they loved him. He was truly jolly and genuinely happy and just the perfect Santa, the kids hopped right up on his lap and Randi told him she wanted a puppy and he looked at us concerned and asked her if there was something else she wanted, she said no she wanted a puppy that you can pet it's back and make it walk, a "toy puppy" she corrected herself and he looked relieved (as we were) and Ryan asked for a green race car... :)

Also that weekend we went grocery shopping, Ryan and Randi always fight over who gets to be in the cart, see whoever is in the cart gets to get out and walk when our cart gets full, well this time Ryan was sitting in the cart with all the groceries (keep that in mind), we got about 40-50% done getting our groceries and decided it was about time for Ryan to get out and walk I went to get him and he started looking uncomfortable and spacey... all the sudden he puked... projectile vomit all over the groceries, the cart, Randi's coat (which was on the bottom) his spiderman moon boots and clothes, the floor... everywhere... Now Carl doesn't do well with puke, so I looked around shouted at an employee about the mess, told Carl to get my purse and Randi and I ran to the back bathroom... after stripping Ryan and instructing Carl to go buy some jammies and come back to the bathroom we had to carry the kids out, Ryan in jammies and no socks or a coat (secondary to vomit) and Randi just without a coat, but distraught over the fact that her coat had vomit everywhere... it was quite the experience and Ryan continued to vomit for 3 days... he ate nothing and drank nothing, but finally Christmas Eve he was able to keep down some food and it was over... Thank goodness! I think we did 8 loads of laundry and mommy slept on the floor with him for 2 straight nights... my bed sure felt great the 3rd night!
Up next Christmas Eve and Christmas!
