So Carl got a 3 day weekend with us due to working massive amounts of overtime and crazy guard shifts and other craziness, so we decided to just do some family activities and see what we could jam in to one weekend. First we visited downtown Fayetteville, walked the streets, shopped the local businesses and enjoyed some relatively cool weather. The kids looked as adorable as ever and they always enjoy being out and about even if that is in a stroller!
We built forts, sang, danced, and played piano. The kids really love the piano and it's nearly impossible for momma to get quality playing time in due to their love for it. I am hoping that one will pick it up and want to do lessons at some point. I'm sure their talent will be far exceed my own.
We slept in and stayed in our pajamas until mid day one of the days and it was fabulous! We watched a few flicks, ate a yummy homemade breakfast, and just relaxed as a family.
We had a toilet break on us so we went and found our new toilets and are excited to get more efficient and better quality toilets in this house. We also picked up all the materials we needed to finally build our garden, it will be small, but that's all we need. It will be about 7 ft long and 3 ft wide, we will continue our tradition of salsa ingredients as well as fresh herbs and maybe venture out to some cucumbers or zucchini... Yum! We are a small family so we don't need a lot of anything.
We spent a lot of time ouside, we played ball, ran, went for walks, blew bubbles, drew with chalk, BBQ'd, had a picnic, and we made homemade popsicles but didn't eat any due to momma not wanting to have to deal with yet another mess and another bath time :)
Ryan is really getting his swing down, we need to work on the stance, but we are so proud! I think he definitely got his talent from his daddy.
Randi is a cheeseball and loves the camera, if I have it in my hands, she wants me to take her picture and them promptly asks to look at it, she gets all giddy and usually says "pretty" or "oooohhhh" she is so silly.
Ryan is a bit harder to get to hold still and get a snap shot of, but on a rare occasion it happens and when it does it's such a cute thing!
Anyways, it was a great weekend and I wish everyday could be a weekend, but alas it's back to work we always have to go... soon we will be out of the Army and we can take a REAL trip as a family wherever we want to go and be gone for as long as we want to be gone and it will be a fabulous thing. Life is good, love is strong, and we are happy...
