Blondies with a twist
Blondies are a cookie bar that was developed by a southern cook who preferred the taste of brown sugar opposed to granulated sugar, well I say this cook was genius!
Ingredients
2 C packed brown sugar
2/3 C butter
2 eggs
2 tsp Vanilla
2 C all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 Heath bars, crushed
First step,
Grease 13x 9 inch pan and set aside, Preheat oven to 350
Next,
Heat butter and brown sugar in pot and over medium heat until butter is melted and mix is smooth (stir continuously for a smooth texture), like the picture below. Remove from heat and cool slightly
Then,
Add 1 egg and mix, add second egg, mix
Add in vanilla
Mix
And then,
Add in flour, baking powder, and baking soda, mix...
It should be a lighter and creamy texture like below when mixing is complete
Finally pour into pan and sprinkle on chopped up heath bars (most blondies are with common semi sweet chocolate chips and nuts, so experiment and see what you like!)
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until toothpick is inserted in middle and comes out clean
Slice while warm and top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if your heart so desires... they are delicious!
