This year for my birthday Carl got tickets to the Bank of American 500, which for you that don't know is a NASCAR race :) I was super excited and the best part is that we went without any children and with two awesome friends!
We left on Saturday morning and drove to Charlotte and shopped a bit then met up with our friends and went to the track and walked around all the booths and looked for new shirts, hats or anything else we could find, finally we found our seats and enjoyed all sorts of loud cars, louder fans, and greasy food :) It was fabulous
I love this man, I love NASCAR, I love my Gucci glasses, I love my life... I'm pretty blessed.
After the race we stayed in a fabulous hotel with a full size kitchen and it was so great to sit up and watch a movie just the two of us with no interruptions and to sleep in! The sun woke us up, not any toes in our face or little hands trying to open my eyes. We got up and had a relaxing morning then drove home. The ride home was beautiful. It was great to act like newlyweds again!
To finish off my birthday Carl baked me a cake with sprinkles, filled the house with pink and silver balloons, had the kids make me a Happy Birthday sign and just made me feel special. It was a great birthday, one year closer to 30 years and I couldn't be more happy with my life.
Yep we are one good looking family! (Notice the twinkies faces are stuck on the cake! Which they thoroughly enjoyed!)
