Blackwood "Babes": HALLOWEEN!

How could I have missed posting these! What a shame!

We carved 4 pumpkins this year and saved one for Thanksgiving pumpkin seeds :) The kids didn't get quite as into them this year as they did last, they were worried about the seeds making their hands dirty and needing to wash them, and they didn't want momma to carve them, they wanted to, so they got upset a few times, but thank goodness everyone ended up happy... Randi chose a tinkerbell design and Ryan chose a Mickey Mouse design, I knew I had my work cut out for me

Ryan did enjoy poking the pumpkin, although most of his pokes weren't in the right spot... I didn't care it was cute to watch him help :) He was so proud of himself too!

Alan even got into the Halloween spirit and carved a design Carl had chosen because Carl had to be out of town, he did an awesome job, which isn't surprising considering he has a pretty artistic talent.

The twinkies were Ariel and a Pirate this year, it was cute, Randi wanted red hair, but momma didn't get any red hair spray, so we went with curly princess hair... Ryan walked around saying "Arg, I'm captain Ry Ry" it was adorable and I tried not to laugh because when I did he told me not to because he was "too strong"

To our dismay it rained on Halloween, but we didn't let a little bit of water get in our way! We took out the umbrellas and hit up about 6 homes in our neighborhood, then hit a few other specific homes of friends, and I can't forget our stop in at the mall to see their Uncle AJ... they were so excited. It was awesome to see the kids understand what Halloween was and what you say and what happens when you knock on the doors, it was so fun! I am already looking forward to next year!
