So back in April when Shawnee and Aven came and visited us we made it to the Cape Fear Botanical Gardens, twice actually! They were so beautiful that the first time we did not have enough time to visit all of it or take one of their many trails to view Cape Fear Lake and more sites. Below there is a beautiful tractor that I just fell in love with right away, partly because it is a tractor and it reminded me of home, but more so because it reminded me of grandpa... it is a tractor that he would have driven and loved! I can just picture him up there with one of his grandchildren (or more so great grandchildren) and his goofy smile and farmers hat... oh how I miss him. I love you grandpa!
The flowers were all in full bloom and just so vivid and gorgeous! Now I'm no photographer and have a simple camera, but I think these pictures even turned out amazing for just a quick two second snap shot. I was in awe over all of the vibrant colors and smells throughout all the different gardens
Just a quick shot of Shawnee and I. Shawnee truly is one of my soul mates! We hit it off at hello and even with 3000+ miles between us we are still connected in a way most of my friends and I aren't. I love her deeply and cannot wait until the next time they come to visit or we make it home to visit. Hopefully next time our men can join us so that we can have a girls day at the spa or something :)
Here is just a small example of what the trails were lined with while walking through a section of the gardens, it smelled amazing and it was so coordinating and well kept.
My little stud... had to include him in his shades... :) the second day we went to the gardens he slept the whole time! So all our other photos are him sleeping with his feet up in Randi's space! haha... silly boy!
Then of course our little diva Randi, she was such a cutie, but caused me quite a work out on the first day. She kept kicking off her shoes and when we were leaving I realized we had lost another shoe! After running our course again, it had been turned in up at the front desk... why I didn't think of looking there first I don't know... but I am sure glad that we found it!
Finally a shot of the trail.... let me tell you, next time we do this and we will do it again... soon hopefully, I am taking my jogging stroller, off roading in a double front and back stroller is WAY too much of a work out, poor Shawnee had an umbrella stroller, these trails went up and down and over tree roots, bridges, dips, soft dirt.... we were sweating! A lot actually! Still a fabulous time and I loved being surrounded by nature and beauty! Oh so fun! (I tried uploading more pictures, some with the 3 kids together, but the uploader is failing on all the rest... :( sad!)

That looks like so much fun! I wish they had something like that in Seattle. The flower photos turned out great, too!
