Another special person in our lives was lost, Feb 28, 2010 around 10:15pm Idaho time... My father's mom, my grandma, my kid's great grandma, and my friend passed... she was so many other things as well. She was a happy woman, a hard worker, she was giving, loving, energetic (until her last days), helpful, witty, funny, and loved by everyone who knew her. Grandma Burton swam in the Hot Springs until her last weeks of being alive. She drank her "mixed" drink every morning (it was squirt and orange juice), she loved watching Pete's Magic Dragon, and would walk around singing that song all day after watching it! Grandma always took us to the Lagoon growing up and was right along our side down the twisty turny roller coasters, white rapid wet rides, and all others! She was always positive about life and didn't tolerate rude behavior. She raised wonderful children pretty much single handedly and did an amazing job at it. I admire, respect, love, and strive to be more like my Grandma Burton. I pray that one day my children and my grandchildren will look at me the way I look at Grandma. I will miss her dearly and though selfishly I wish she were still with us, I am grateful that her pain has ended and she has returned to her Father in Heaven and her other loved ones that had gone before her. She will always be in my heart.
A quick note: The first time I ever met Carl was at my Grandma's house. Grandma Burton knows Carl well and he has spent time with her and our family since a young age and I will forever be grateful for her opening her home to all those that wanted to come over regardless of the day or time or occasion, because if she didn't allow Jacob (my cousin) to bring Carl that one November day for our familly Thanksgiving dinner, I may have never met my amazing husband and then we wouldn't have our beautiful twins... and life would not be the same. So Thank You Grandma.
I love my Grandma! So glad we were able to see her daily on our trip to Idaho. She is so beautiful, and I am so grateful for the last minutes we had together.
This was also Grandma's first time meeting the twins. I am so thankful she was able to hold on to see them, they are the biggest achievement in my life and I am glad that she was able to meet them. One day we will show them all the pictures with their Grandma Burton and I cannot wait to tell them all about her.
Finally Kira, Grandma, and I... yea we are goodlooking... :) Love you Grandma, you will never be forgotten and you will always be in our hearts and minds. I promise to try and make you proud every day, and where I cannot wait to see you again! Thank goodness for our knowledge of the afterlife. Please if you have a moment, just say a prayer for our family and her many friends, hearts have been broken and many tears have been shed for Grandma. She truly was a special woman. We love you Grandma!
